Walking around the world, blasting off
to Mars and under the sea and finally checking into a deserted hotel
on the dark side of Hollywood!

After such a long night the day before we DID sleep in! When we finally
decided to get up and go to the food court it was so crowded that we
gave breakfast a miss altogether and went over to Epcot. We parked
our car at the Yacht Club, just in case we would make it to the
Yacht Club Galley in time for breakfast, but we didn’t. So we
strolled over to the International Gateway and started travelling
around the world. |
 |
Mickey was the tourguide as always! Right after we had crossed the bridge
to France we saw a Segway Tour riding through the French gardens.
Looks fun – maybe we should try this one day! While we slowly
strolled over to Marocco we met the tour again. They were driving
through the buildings there having a good time. |

Japan was still deserted when we passed through and so was Germany. We
went to investigate about that “Christmas pickle ornament”.
Being neighbours to Germany we had been stunned we had never heard
of it and neither have any of our German friends. We talked to a German Cast Member who wasn’t sure
about it either. When we finally made it to China we were both VERY
hungry. We had a very early lunch at the Lotus Blossom Café and we
shared Potstickers
and Egg Rolls and
both had the Orange
Chicken with Steamed Rice.
|
We sat for a while finishing our meal, then went
over to go on the nice relaxing boat ride in Norway and explored
their store. Next was the boat ride in Mexico. I like how this ride
turned out to be now. Fun to see Donald in there. We were still full,
and moved on rather slowly, so Hypersleep on Mission Space was
welcome. We both love that ride and it never fails to amaze me.The
lift off is just out of this world! |

The line for Test Track was too long, so we went to
check out Soarin. Another long line, gave it a miss, but there is
usually NO line for Journey into Imagination. That particular day
there was a line!! We waited about 10 minutes before we were able to
board and we even discovered a Hidden Mickey while riding. Next stop
– Living Seas to help find Nemo. I love this new ride – the clam
mobiles are fun! When we exited we wanted to have a look at the tanks
and there was a diving tour in one of them. Needless to say we
stayed and watched. The Cast Members accompanying the tour made all
of us laugh out loud with their interaction. |

The new Nemo tanks are fun to explore and even more
fun is watching the kids when they see the “real” Nemo, Marlin
and Dori. Well, it was time to go back to the Yacht Club to drive
over to MGM to have dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine-In.Even though the
reviews for this restaurant aren’t very good it is always fun to
dine in a drive-in movie theater. |
Tom had the Barbecued
Chicken Breast Sandwich -
topped with smoked gouda cheese, crispy onion straws on a kaiser
roll with fries and I had the Caesar
Salad with Chicken - Grilled chicken breast, fresh-cut romaine
lettuce tossed with a traditional caesar dressing, topped with
croutons and grated Parmesan.. Tom didn’t want dessert, so he had
coffee while I had the Cheesecake
with caramel sauce and treats. One of my favourites. It had taken
us an hour and a half to have dinner and it was already time to pick
up a wristband for the extra magic hours. After that we went to see
the Muppets, went right onto the Little Mermaid show and picked up a
Fastpass for Tower of Terror. |
 |
The lines were long everywhere and we decided to try
the Great Movie Ride, long line again, but nevertheless it was fun.
Since the line for Rock’n’Rollercoaster was way to long to wait
in it we went to stand in the line for Tower of Terror. |
 |
We waited
for more than 90 minutes and were bitten by a whole armada of
mosquitos! Never again without mosquito spray! When we got off the
ride our Fastpass time had just begun, so we bypassed the standby
line and rode Tower of Terror again with NO wait at all. We went
back to the car and drove back to the resort where we applied loads
of Rescue Cream to our mosquito bites and went to bed.
